"And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was in the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other; every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side their bodies.
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord, and when I saw it, I fell upon my face.....

"....The prototype of all imperial flights and ascensions was that of the legendary emperor Huan Ti. After this emperor, who is not mentioned earlier than 375 B.C., had "cast a bronze tripod cauldron once upon a time at Shou-shan (and doubtless brewed a chemical elixir in it), a celestial dragon vehicle came down from the heavens to fetch him, into the which he stepped-together with more than seventy other people, both ministers and palace ladies-and they all mounted up into the sky in full view of the populace."

"Restraining my restless pho soul I mounted the empyrean.
I clung to a floating cloud and rode aloft on it.
I bade the gate-guard of the heavens open his doors,
And he pushed back the portals and looked out at me;
I summoned Feng Lung to lead the way ahead,
And asked for the Grand Forbidden Enclosure;
I entered the very spheres of the stories heavens,
And entered the court of the Ruler Above (ju Ti Kung),
I came to the Computer of the Decades of Days (hsun shih),
And viewed the Pure City, hub of all that there is.
In the morning I set out from the court of the heavens
In the evening Wei-Lu came in sight below.
I marshaled together my ten thousand chariots;
Slowly and gradually we rode side by side,
Mine harnessed eight dragons, coiling and curveting,
And bore a cloud banner that flapped in the wind...."

"November, 1661. My attention was drawn to something moving in the heavens. At first, I thought it might be a special bird, unknown to me, that lived in these regions. Then the object came nearer, taking on the form of a Chinese double hat and all the while rotating silently as if it were being conveyed through the air on invisible wings. This visitation was definitely a thing of wonder-or a magic trick. The object winged its way about the city exactly as if it wished to be admired. It circled twice, and then was suddenly enshrouded in fog, and as much as I strained my eyes I could no longer see it."

To the Editor of the New York Sun
Sir: On Tuesday afternoon of this week, a few minutes after 6 o'clock, I noticed from my window a very peculiar, solitary, vapory object in the heavens. Its position was about where the constellation of the dipper would be at that hour. Viz, due north, and 35 degrees above the horizon. In magnitude and contour it in a marked degree resembled a human form, head, body, and nether limbs, the body and limbs robed in shadowy drapery. The head, which was of brighter luminosity on the crown and forehead, had thick flowing hair, and the whole figure was extended horizontally with the head eastward and the front downward. But there was another feature quite as marked, and that was in appearances of wings projecting upward and backward from the shoulders....this last named feature gave the entirety the appearance of an angel.
Flying in mid-heaven, considered as a cloud, it was remarkable that it kept the same outline continuously (which is uncommon in those vapory objects). While I had it in view for a considerable time, it progressed swiftly toward the east. The luminosity of the shadowy angel was of a golden white, and presented a very beautiful appearance against the blue background of the sky. In addition to the startling outline of the object, the interest in it was greatly increased by its being at the time the only one visible in the whole northern heavens, except some low-lying black clouds on the horizon. I called the attention of several persons to it, one of whom discovered himself the resemblance I did.
Query-Was this a presage of a coming event? It reminded me of the words recorded in Mark 13:27: "Then shall he send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds"; and those in Daniel 9:21: "Gabriel....being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation."

"It may be that those people out west who for the last six months have been filling the papers with accounts of a mysterious airship which they have been seeing in the sky are not monumental liars after all. It is possible that experiments now being made by the U.S. government with a view to producing a genuine airship may be responsible for their visions..."

"This strange phenomenon may be considered, in view of certain observations, as long-range aircraft capable of a high rate of climb, high cruising speed, highly maneuverable and capable of being flown in very tight formation. These so-called "flying saucers" are assumed to be manned craft of unknown origin. While there remains the possibility of Russian manufacture, based on the the thinking and actual accomplishments of the Germans, it is the considered opinion of some elements that the objects may in fact represent an interplanetary craft of some kind..."

"In order to undertake such a project,(Ufo study)one has to approach it objectively. That is, one has to admit the possibility that such things (UFOs) exist. It is not respectable to give serious consideration to such a possibility. Believers, in other words, would remain outcasts.....admitting such possibilities....puts us beyond the pale, and we would lose more in prestige in the scientific community than we could possibly gain by undertaking the investigation.
Our study would be conducted almost exclusively by non-believers who, although they couldn't possibly prove a negative result, could and probably would add an impressive body of evidence, that there is no reality to the observations. The trick would be, I think, to describe the project so that, to the public, it would appear a totally objective study, but, to the scientific community, would present the image of a group of nonbelievers trying their best to be objective but having an almost zero expectation of finding a saucer. One way to do this would be to stress investigation, not of the physical phenomena, but rather of the people who do the observing-the psychology and sociology of persons or groups who report seeing UFOs....

Former astronaut EDGAR Mitchell, who in 1971 became the sixth man to walk on the moon, wants congressional hearings on outer-space aliens he believes to have crash-landed on Earth.
Dear Mr. Arnon:
The subject of UFOs is one that has interested me for some long time. About ten or twelve years ago I made an effort to find out what was in the building at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where the information is stored that has been collected by the Air Force, and I was understandably denied this request. It is still classified above Top Secret. I have, however, heard that there is a plan under way to release some, if not all, of this material in the near future. I’m just as anxious to see the material as you are, and I hope we will not have to wait much longer.
"I am an American astronaut and a trained scientist. Because of my position, people in high places confide in me. And as a result, I have no doubt that aliens have visited this planet.
